Christmas Time

Well it is that wounderful time of year. Yes it is time to go out and do your christmas shopping. So the stores are trying to get your business with their advertisements. We just got done with the black friday, which is the biggest shopping day of the year. It is a crazy time to go shopping. It used to start at 4 or 5 in the morning, but now the starting times varies. People become pushy and start fights over certain products because of how much they can save.

I have gone out and done this three times. The first time was when my kids were six months and one years old. Everyone says I was crazy, but it really wasen't too bad. Now though I don't have young kids and I think it is worse. People camp out in front of stores the week of so they can be first in line, people push and possibly push people over and can cause them harm. Is it really worth getting that 42 inch T.V. for $100 or $200? Many would say yes, but I wounder. Last year I went to Walmart for a video camera and DVD movies. They started things at certain times and the video camera was available at midnight. So people were standing around certain products waiting for when they could grab and go. It got really crazy because a few lanes over I guess some people got into a fist fight over towels. Seriously, towels! Well needless to say they got escorted out of the store by security.

You have Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Target, Mejier, and many others that start their christmas ads at least two months before christmas gets hear. Walmart brought back their layway for christmas, Kmart allowed people to put things on layway during black friday, Sears was giving $100 gift cards away for a certain amount spent, and Target was giving 5 or 10% off on top of what it was already maked down for and plus free shipping for online shopping.

The next big day coming up will be online shopping on monday. This is new, only been going on for a few years now. But you save big money when ordering and plus get free shipping.

This just makes me wounder if it is all worth it in the end. I thought it was when I did it, but I had young kids and alot of the toys were cheep. I guess if you are thinking of doing it, make sure it is going to be worth your time, and money.

I think these commercials do a great job on pull us in, so I give them a thumbs up.

  2. I have never gone shopping on black Friday and I dont think I will. I have watched my cousins and siblings for the past three years and after the stories they tell me and the things I've just heard in general I ever want to be in a place like that. I'm not one for places that are crowded and filled with to many people, so I think shopping on black Friday would be to overwhelming for me.
