Presidential Campaign

Have you made up your mind on who you are going to vote for? I know I haven't. It seems you see one advertisement saying that this guy is going to change this and that his track record is good. Then the next thing you see is another advertisement saying that all he wants to do is put us more in debt and is only out for him self. How do you know who to vote for? Why do they make it so hard? Why can't they just say what they stand for and this is what they want to do when they get in office and leave it at that. We can't do that because it is not just what they want to do for the country but also what they have done in their personal lifes that is up for view. I know we all remember President Kennedy with Maraline Manroe, and President Clinton with Monica Luinski. That is what those guys are remembered for the most. Why is that? Have we become so much into what people do in there personal lives that nothing else matters. I guess that is why I have never voted. I know that is sad, but I truely don't ever know who to vote for. When I think I know who I would vote for there is something that says the complete opposite of what I thought that person stood for.

Well this year it is Obama and Romney who is up for the vote this year. I have caught stuff here and there, but I really haven't followed anything. Like I said, when they go and speak all they seem to do is kick the other guy down. It almost seems like we are in school again. (This is just my opinion on how I see things.) I know they are in a race for votes but shouldn't they be trying to sell us on what they will try and do for us the people when they get into office. How they are going to try and turn our economy around? It is sad in a way to me. That it comes down to figure pointing instead of saying we are going to have to make some hard changes to make the economy better for the future. I would like to hear all the good things that they have accomplished instead of the bad. I really don't care what they have done in there personal life, because I don't think that is going to change how they will do their job.

This country is and can be a great country again. I think we need to stop pointing fingers at each other and try to fix what is broken. And all of the political parties to get on the same page instead of fighting each other. I personal think that the people from back in the day who sacrificed their lives for this country could see how it has turned out, would be kind of upset. I know I would. But that is how it has been for so long. Basically you have to have the money to win and people in your pocket. It is sad and just makes me wounder how the world is going to be 15 to 20 years from now. I hope it is still around for my kids and their kids. But the way it is going I don't know.

So what do you think? Do you feel the same way or do you think I am nuts? Everyone has a right to their opinion. If you are of age to vote, will you? And for the older ones who have been voting, do you vote at every election? Maybe you can give me some feed back on who you are going to choose and why?

Like I said this is just how I feel. By no means am I right or wrong.

Funny Commercials

Well this week I am gonna talk about those commercial ads that make you laugh. There are many so I am going to chose a few to share that make me laugh every single time I see them.

The leading commercial would have to be the M&M ads. There are so many of these ads that can make you laugh. The best M&M ad that is out there right now is the "Sexy and I know it." Every single time I see that one I laugh my butt off. My husband and daughter think I am just crazy because I laugh so hard I cry. I just can't help it. We all know the little M&M people are not real, but when the red M&M comes in strips down to just his chocolate and starts dancing I just start laughing. Maybe it is because I can picture some friends of mine doing that back when we were young and dumb. Any ways I just love to see what new ads they will come out with for M&M's.

Do you remember those "got milk" ads. I can't remember if there was alot of them, but the one I do remember is when the guy is eating the peanut butter sandwich. He is some history buff and on the radio there is a question asked about who shot Alexander Hamilton. Well needless to say he knows the answer but when he answers the phone, the person on the other line can't understand him because of the sticky peanut butter sandwich in his mouth. Then of course he has milk but when he goes to pour some in his glass, there is none in the carton. Needless to say he didn't win because they couldn't understand what he was saying. I haven't seen this commercial lately, I think that is because the milk mustash ads have taken over for the commercials. When they did have "got milk" commercials, this was the one that I remember and always got a kick out of.

Well that was just a few ads that made me laugh when ever I saw them. So these two commercials get thumbs up from me. I love how they keep you laughing, while they are selling there product. So what do you thing? Does my choices on commercials make you laugh? Or do you think they are all right? Do you have a favorite or funny commercial that you like? If you do, what is it? What made it memorable for you?

Well that is all for this week. Hope you enjoyed and laughed today.

Beauty Ads

Have you stayed up late and watch all those commercials for quick fixes? Have you ever tried any of those products hoping to look younger, lose weight, or what ever they are trying to sell?

I can say I have bought a couple of those kinds of products. Mostly for having the perfect hair or the nice milky skin that all those actresses have. Did it work? Heck no, I still have the same curly, wild looking hair, and the same skin with the dark circles under the eyes. I guess we all in a way want to believe that we can all look perfect, so we buy these products hoping for those kinds of promises that we see on T.V.

The one thing that they don't tell us is that everyone is different and that they you are not going to have the same kind of results as shown on T.V. Is that fair to us the buyer? Well i guess that is. There is nothing saying that everything shown on T.V., internet, and ect., has to be the truth. What ever makes the product sell is what they will tell you. They use our inseccurities to sell their products. We are the dumb ones who buy it to it, without doing research on that product first to see if it is true. Then they tell you that if it doesn't work you can get your money back. Yeah right! When you get the product there are other guide lines you have to follow before that can happen. And how many of us actually follow those guide lines. I know I sure don't. When you buy a product, like for instance a weight loss pill, all you think you have to do is take the pill and the pounds will melt away. NOT!!! That is what they say in their ad, but what you don't know until you buy it is you have to do a certain diet that they send you and plus a work out. Think that is not fair that they don't tell you that in the commercial. Well that is how they sell it and you don't ask for your money back. It is really smart if you think of it. But not fair by any means.

I guess we as consumers need to stop believing in what we think is the quick fix. If it is too good to be true then it usually is. We as men and women need to stop looking for an easy fix and just need to accept each other for who we are. If the man up stairs wanted us to all be perfect then he would have made us that way. Today's society has shown our young people that if you are not skinny, not tan, and don't have big boobs, then their is something wrong with you. That is unfair to our young people because that causes alot more problems like: eatting problems, low self-esteem, and depression with our young people. We need to have real role models, not fake ones who are air brushed. I know I am rambling, but I have a teenage daughter and sometimes I hear what they are talking about and it makes me mad, sad, and worried as a mother. All I can do is reassure them that they are perfect the way they are and if someone tells them different then they are not happy with themselves. If that makes sense.

I guess what I am saying is be well educated before you make that next pruchase of the wounder pill, or cream, or what ever they are selling that will make you look young, with beautiful hair or body. I know I have. I put a few ads in here that say they will make you look younger, or lose weight. You be the judge and see if it sound too good to be true.

Magazine Advertisement

When I am standing in line waiting to check out, I can't help but notice all the magazines there. I will pick one up and thumb through it and see if something jumps out at me. Most of the time I look for the article that they were talking about on the cover of the magazine. While looking for that article you can always see many ads for makeup, perfume, clothes, movies, and etc.

There is so many different magazines out there that each one has to try and top the other. Has to get the breaking story to be able to sell their magazine. Sometimes it makes me wounder if what they put out there is true or a little fabricated. I know you have the gossip magazines that say so and so was caught cheating with so and so. Or a movie star was caught drinking in public and getting in fights. It seems all you hear is the negative in alot of magazine cover stories, instead of the good that they have done. Or you only hear one side of the story. So can you always believe what you read? I think not.

One magazine that comes to mind that likes to go for the wow factor is TIME magazine. Remember the add with the mother still breast feeding the toddler. That was something, I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It just made me think, wow they will do a story on anything that will sell issues. Plus, how could that mother do an article on that. It reminded me of a Jerry Springer show. But it did make them money since people couldn't believe a mother would do that. Plus she got air time on T.V. and as they say, had her 15 minutes of fame.

Magazines are good for advertisements. Some may think that is a famous person uses the product, drives the product, wears the product, and ect. That the product must work and will go out and buy the product before they know anything about it. That is the down side. Products doesn't work the same for everyone. I have gone out and tried things just because I see that it has worked for someone else and figure if it works there then it should work for me. Not the case, I have wasted alot of money on those products and used them once or twice and then they collect dust on the shelf or in the drawer. I guess we the consumers need to better educate ourselves before we go out and buy things that we don't know alot about.
