Reality Shows

Reality shows are the newest and biggest thing out there right now. When ever I am watching T.V. it amazes me on how there are so many reality shows now then there were five or ten years ago.

Reality shows started out with Big Brother, Survior, MTV Road Rules, and a few others. Now they have gone to anything that will get ratings it seems.

Sometimes I really wounder how much of it is real. I mean can people really act mean, ignorant, selfish, or bazarre all the time. I know they do alot of editing to make it look good, but why would people want to come off that way. I personally would not want cameras following me around 24/7 and not allowed to have any alone time. It would drive me crazy.

Some of these reality shows are really questionable. Like on TNT they have coming out soon, Amish Mofia. Seriously, this can't be real because why would the amish do it first of all. I thought they didn't deal with all this media stuff because it is evil or bad. Now this is the second show on them. Will I watch it, probably because I a curious about it. That is what sells I guess.

It is sometimes nice watching other peoples lives go down the drain or more screwed up then my is. Maybe that is mean but you know most people are like that. I mean look how people act when there favorite actor or actress is pulled over for a DUI, found out to be gay, or has a drug problem. Don't we think bad of them and wounder why they would do that. I am getting off the topic a little bit but it is true to critize someone elses life instead of our own.

Reality shows are becoming too much sometimes. What ever happened to the funny family programs like Cosby? Why can't they make more of them? All I am saying is reality shows have gone a little too far. If that is all we can create and make for shows then we need to take a step back and evaluate things a little more.

I am one of those reality show watchers. But sometimes it gets a little too much for me.

Christmas Time

Well it is that wounderful time of year. Yes it is time to go out and do your christmas shopping. So the stores are trying to get your business with their advertisements. We just got done with the black friday, which is the biggest shopping day of the year. It is a crazy time to go shopping. It used to start at 4 or 5 in the morning, but now the starting times varies. People become pushy and start fights over certain products because of how much they can save.

I have gone out and done this three times. The first time was when my kids were six months and one years old. Everyone says I was crazy, but it really wasen't too bad. Now though I don't have young kids and I think it is worse. People camp out in front of stores the week of so they can be first in line, people push and possibly push people over and can cause them harm. Is it really worth getting that 42 inch T.V. for $100 or $200? Many would say yes, but I wounder. Last year I went to Walmart for a video camera and DVD movies. They started things at certain times and the video camera was available at midnight. So people were standing around certain products waiting for when they could grab and go. It got really crazy because a few lanes over I guess some people got into a fist fight over towels. Seriously, towels! Well needless to say they got escorted out of the store by security.

You have Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Target, Mejier, and many others that start their christmas ads at least two months before christmas gets hear. Walmart brought back their layway for christmas, Kmart allowed people to put things on layway during black friday, Sears was giving $100 gift cards away for a certain amount spent, and Target was giving 5 or 10% off on top of what it was already maked down for and plus free shipping for online shopping.

The next big day coming up will be online shopping on monday. This is new, only been going on for a few years now. But you save big money when ordering and plus get free shipping.

This just makes me wounder if it is all worth it in the end. I thought it was when I did it, but I had young kids and alot of the toys were cheep. I guess if you are thinking of doing it, make sure it is going to be worth your time, and money.

I think these commercials do a great job on pull us in, so I give them a thumbs up.

Phones

What would we do without phones? What do you use your phone for? Phones have become a big part of our lives. We use phones for calling people, texting, going on web sites, turning vehicles on or off, pay for things, and many more. Phones have become such a part of our lives that we would be lost without them. There is also many different types out there to chose from. How do you know what one to chose?

You have cell phone companies coming up with the next big thing when it comes to phones. When will it stop? How much more can they have a phone do? It amazes me that now you can share photos or videos by just touching someone elses phone. How do they come up with these things? I would have never thought of that or any of those things.

I have a phone that I mostly text with. It is easier and faster to text someone than it is to call and have an conversation. I just say what I have to and that is it. No one interupts me and I am not on the phone for 5 or more minutes wishing the conversation was over. We have become such a technology world that we would not know what to do without all these new technology.

The sad thing is that once you buy that new Iphone that within a year or two they will come out with a new one and then you will have to go out and spend any where from $200 on up for that knew phone.

This also makes me wounder how the future will be. Will we not have to leave our houses for nothing because technology will make it to we can do everything from home.

Computers

Do you know alot about computers? Do you know what type you should buy? Or what type is best suited for you? When I went to buy my laptop I had no idea what to look for. So I bought a computer that everyone told me to buy because it was suppose to be a good one. So know I have this computer that is slow and likes to freeze up on me sometimes. This means I have to take it to someone, one of these days, and get it fixed.

This is going to cost me more money, which makes me made. Why do they make it so difficult to run a computer? We spend money for the computer, printer, and any programs that you need. Now you can buy different computers. The are PC or Macs and possible more, I just don't know what they all are.

I have a hewitt packard, which is a PC, i guess. When I bought this, I was told that these were one of the best out there. Now I am not so sure. It works, but not how I would like it to.

I was talking to a girl in my english class about the differences between PC and Mac computers. If I understand this right that Mac is better than a PC. I guess a PC can get slowed down by all the sights that are visited, and by pictures and videos or music. All those things makes the computer run slower, I guess. To where a Mac can handle all those things. My class mate owns a Mac and she said she has tons of music and pictures on her computer and it still runs like it did in the beginning. Plus that once you are done on a web sight or program and close out of it, you are out and it won't slow it down. I really don't understand, but I think my next computer will be a Mac.

I would just like a computer that I can use and not have to worry about it feezing or not have to wait forever for something to open. I just wish they made computers that were easy to operate, I am no where a computer wiz, just want it simple to use.

When it comes to the advertisements on computers, I wish they would make them easier to understand. I don't know anything about ROM, GB, or anything else that deals with memory. Just say hey, this computer is good for college or high school students or for people who know everything about computers. Just a thought.

So when it comes to buying a computer, I guess you should really do some checking around before you buy the first thing out there.

Insurance

Insurance can be so expensive these days. When you go and buy a new car or even a used one, the insurance is either the same amount or is more then your vehicle payment. If you forget a payment you can possibly be dropped for the company and then you have to go through the whole process of finding another insurance carrier. Once you find that insurance carrier then you have to put a portion of money down to start the insurance. Why does it have to be so hard and expensive? Now I also get the joy of adding my teenage daughter next year when she gets her license. This will cause my insurance to go up dramatically and make me want to pull my hair out. Insurance just dosen't go on your cars, it goes on houses, motor cycles, and about every other thing that we own. I know we need insurance on all these extras for incase of house fires, floods, tornados, or in case another person is opperating your motor vehicle and gets in an accident so that you are covered as well as they are. When did it become so difficult? Oh, I remember, when we decided to build motorized things. Why couldn't we just have stuck with the horse and buggy like Little House on the Praire? I know we would be could in the winter because of no heat and hot in the summer because of no air conditioning but it would have been easier.

What made me go off on this little insurance thing? Well all of these insurance ads that are out there that we see on T.V., billboards, magazines, and we hear on the radio. They all promise to save you more money then the other guy. Is that completely true? How are they able to save me or anyone else more money than the company that I or they are with now? It just can be so confusing sometimes.

Some of these companies have come up with new ways to save you money as well as for you to get money back. Are these ways truly true or worth the switch? A few of the ads that have caught my eye are the Geico, Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, and many others.

For instance Progressive has this snapshot device that you plug into your vehicle and if you don't speed and following all the rules you will have a low insurance rate. What happens though if you do speed or whatever? Does your rate go up or do they drop you? Plus that gives them too much information on you. Can they use that to spy on you or something? I am just saying. Then you have state farm who says you can save money when you sign up with them, but how do they determine that. They also say they are fast on claims. Well I haven't seen a fast insurance company with claims yet. Then Geico I really don't understand. You can do your insurance online and print off a copy of insurance from them but how do you know what to exactly get. What if you thought you had coverage for hitting a deer and you didn't because you forgot or didn't know what you were truly doing. I think Geico is just good for the commercials. They have went from the lizard, to a pig, and now to two guys singing why people are happy that they switiched to them. Finally that leaves Allstate. Allstate has the ads that show Mayhem causing all sorts of problems. It is funny but if that stuff really happened and if you didn't have insurance you would be out of luck. They also will give you money back for being a good driver.

So when it comes to insurance of any kind make sure you know what you are exactly getting. Basically any insurance is going to cost alot, so if you want to switch, make sure it is for the right reasons. By the way I liked all these ads except for the Geico ones. Sometimes they can be really stupid.

Must See Movie

There are many advertisements for new movies that are coming out. You see the advertisements on T.V., hear them on the radio, see them in magazines, and you also see them when you buy or rent a movie. But what else do they do to get your attention to go see their movies. Well you have the actors and actresses, who are usually well know and make the people want to see them. You also have the pramears, this is where the actors and actresses come and walk the red carpet and watch the movie with ordinary people. Sometimes you can win tickets to go to these pramears to watch the movie before anyone else and possible get to see or talk to the famous people who are in it.

There is one movie I can't wait to see, it is Breaking Dawn part two from the Twillight series. I know it sounds cheesy, but I have read all of the books and can't wait to see the final part to the series. It comes out on November 19, and even though I have school and work the next day, I will be one of those people standing in line to see the movie at midnight. This movie does have everything. Has the two hot guys and the hot girl. It has all the things in it to make a good movie, drama, love, funny, and fighting. Also to top it off there are vampires. I just love vampire movies, shows, and books. Even though they are not real, it is cool to watch and read about.

So I hope that the last series is as good as the book was. I realise that everything from the book won't be included but they do a pretty good job of getting the point across. So my secret is out I like watch and reading myths. But is something that I enjoy in my free time if I have any.

Well this series gets five stars from me and I can't wait till see the final part.

Video Games

Have you been watching TV and an ad comes on and you think it is a new movie that is coming out? Well I have and it turns out to be a new video game. It amazes me on how video games look so real these days. Not only that but everything has to deal with killing, stealing, having sex, and so on. What ever happened to the good old video games like Super Mario Brothers, Tetris, and etc. I really don't understand how to play the new games anymore. Especially when it come to the controlers. I can't remember where the right button is to push to have someone shoot, or tackle and if I take my eyes off the screen to find the right button then I die or lose.

I am not saying that all games are bad, it just seems that everything has to deal with blood, sex, stealing and what ever else they think of. I know that they have to keep their product selling but what ever happened to Donkey Kong, where you hit things with a box or something and not shooting them and seeing blood all over. Why have games become so violent? I know it sells but it makes me wounder why we the people keep buying it and then turning around and blaming it for Tommy down the street going crazy and shooting up the school or something. I am by no means saying that video games cause people to do that stuff, but there are people who think that way. My response is where is the parents, or teachers, friends and so on. I think we have no one else to blame so we blame the video games.

I have a son who likes to play those type of games, but I make sure he realises that it is just a game, that you can't do that stuff for real. Also I don't allow him to be on it all day everyday. That is the problem, all this technology has become a live in baby sitter for some people. Maybe I am wrong and I am not saying that everyone is like that. But just take a minute and think. Todays parents both have to work, plus take kids to football, basketball, or volleyball games, and then come home make dinner, make sure kid does homework. So when the weekend comes and hopefully nothing is going on, parents just want to relax and not have to worry about anything. So then what does the kid do, play video games, watch tv, or talk on phone or on the web.

Times are rough and no one is perfect, but these video games are getting too real and some people take it for real. At least that is what I am told. I guess what I am saying is what happened to all the old cool video games with not so much violence. Bring back Tetris and the Mario Brothers. Well I am getting off my soap box now. Untill next time, have a great week!!!!

Get In Shape

It seems like America's new kick is to lose weight and have the perfect body. All those commercials with the newest work out, latest pill, drink, or work out equipment is the booming business right now. One night I counted to see how many adds there were on getting fit. I counted about 35 different ones.

If you shake this stuff on your food you can eat what ever you want and lose weight. If you use this work out video, then in 60 to 90 days you will lose five or more pounds. If buy this new boflex you will gain muscle and get a six pack.

Do you really believe them all? I don't believe in all of them. May the work out video's depending on what they are and some work out equipment. But I do not believe in those pills, drinks, and so on. Yes you might lose 20 pounds, but what they don't tell you is it is not fat you are losing it is water. Basically the human body is made up of alot of water,(sorry can't remember how much, just had a brain fart), therefore once you lose those pounds and quit taking the pill or drinking the shake you will gain it back plus then some. Then you think well they promised me my money back if I didn't like the results. WRONG!! The one thing they leave out of the commercial, radio, or billboard ad is that they give you a diet to go along with taking their product. So therefore it isn't that quick and easy fix. That is how they make there money. The real sad thing is that they don't have to tell you, because there are so many new diet pills and drinks coming out on the market everyday. Nothing is done to them unless you go to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Then the only time anything is done is when they get enough complants, then they will look into the product and possibly shut them down and make them pay people back, or just take it off the shelve and you recieve nothing.

I never knew that, I learned that in my Nutrition class. It really surprised me that anyone can come up with a gimic and put it out there and make money off of it without any consequences. But I guess that is what happens in the land of the free. What anyone can think up to make that quick buck they will. I guess as we the consumers need to be careful on what we buy or believe in anymore.

There are some good weight loss products out there. I believe in some work out videos, you just have to remember that a good diet plus the work out will give you the best results. Then you also have to stick to it, you can't stop when you reach your goal. You need to keep that healthy diet and keep working out. Jenny Craig is another good one as well as some others.

What it all boils down to is you will not lose those 5 to 25 pounds in 60 to 90 days. If you do it write you can lose a pound a month or so. It seems like it will take for ever, but that is how are bodies work. There is no way around it. So eat good healthy food and work out at least 20 to 40 minutes a day or more. That is the key to take off the weight and be healthy as well.

Over the counter

The fun season is approaching us with colds, allergies, flu, and etc. It used to be if you were sick you went to see your physician and they would proscribe you medicine to make you feel better. Now that isn't the case. You can go to your local pharmacy, Rite Aid, or Walmarts and find the medicine you need to feel better. Does it always work? Not all the time. Everything that is on their shelves tells you what it treats, for instance, if you have a sore throught, congestion, tempature. You just have to take that pill or drink the liquid as directed and possibly feel better. Alot of times in the end you have to break down and make that doctors appointment because what you bought over the counter doesn't get you better. So there for you have spent money on a quick cure that didn't work and now have to spend more money for the doctor visit.

I know a lot of people who try to go on line and self diagnose themselfs. That doesn't work at all. What they don't understand is that is so you can read and get information on what you have. So that you can be well informed. But when people use it to self diagnose it can cause them worry and confusion. It is the doctor's place to do that. Not the computer.

Our world today has become the quick fix society. It doesn't work that way, there is nothing out there that is going to make you better in 24 hours. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that all over the counter medicine is bad, or that all medical web sites are bad. We just expect too much sometimes.

We also now can get our flu shot at Walmarts or Rite Aide instead of having to make that doctor's appointment. It is easier because you don't have to site at the doctor's and wait that 30 minutes or longer just to get a poke in the arm and plus it is not as expensive. It just shows on how far our world has come in making it easier and less hassle to get certain things done.

All I am saying I guess, is when you go to get that over the counter medicine, or to self diagnose yourself. Be well informed and know that it may not always be true or that it might not always work. Alot of people take that route I think because they don't have insurance and can't afford that doctor's appointment. Just be well informed before you take that pill, drink that liquid, or believe what you read. Thats just what I think.

Presidential Campaign

Have you made up your mind on who you are going to vote for? I know I haven't. It seems you see one advertisement saying that this guy is going to change this and that his track record is good. Then the next thing you see is another advertisement saying that all he wants to do is put us more in debt and is only out for him self. How do you know who to vote for? Why do they make it so hard? Why can't they just say what they stand for and this is what they want to do when they get in office and leave it at that. We can't do that because it is not just what they want to do for the country but also what they have done in their personal lifes that is up for view. I know we all remember President Kennedy with Maraline Manroe, and President Clinton with Monica Luinski. That is what those guys are remembered for the most. Why is that? Have we become so much into what people do in there personal lives that nothing else matters. I guess that is why I have never voted. I know that is sad, but I truely don't ever know who to vote for. When I think I know who I would vote for there is something that says the complete opposite of what I thought that person stood for.

Well this year it is Obama and Romney who is up for the vote this year. I have caught stuff here and there, but I really haven't followed anything. Like I said, when they go and speak all they seem to do is kick the other guy down. It almost seems like we are in school again. (This is just my opinion on how I see things.) I know they are in a race for votes but shouldn't they be trying to sell us on what they will try and do for us the people when they get into office. How they are going to try and turn our economy around? It is sad in a way to me. That it comes down to figure pointing instead of saying we are going to have to make some hard changes to make the economy better for the future. I would like to hear all the good things that they have accomplished instead of the bad. I really don't care what they have done in there personal life, because I don't think that is going to change how they will do their job.

This country is and can be a great country again. I think we need to stop pointing fingers at each other and try to fix what is broken. And all of the political parties to get on the same page instead of fighting each other. I personal think that the people from back in the day who sacrificed their lives for this country could see how it has turned out, would be kind of upset. I know I would. But that is how it has been for so long. Basically you have to have the money to win and people in your pocket. It is sad and just makes me wounder how the world is going to be 15 to 20 years from now. I hope it is still around for my kids and their kids. But the way it is going I don't know.

So what do you think? Do you feel the same way or do you think I am nuts? Everyone has a right to their opinion. If you are of age to vote, will you? And for the older ones who have been voting, do you vote at every election? Maybe you can give me some feed back on who you are going to choose and why?

Like I said this is just how I feel. By no means am I right or wrong.

Funny Commercials

Well this week I am gonna talk about those commercial ads that make you laugh. There are many so I am going to chose a few to share that make me laugh every single time I see them.

The leading commercial would have to be the M&M ads. There are so many of these ads that can make you laugh. The best M&M ad that is out there right now is the "Sexy and I know it." Every single time I see that one I laugh my butt off. My husband and daughter think I am just crazy because I laugh so hard I cry. I just can't help it. We all know the little M&M people are not real, but when the red M&M comes in strips down to just his chocolate and starts dancing I just start laughing. Maybe it is because I can picture some friends of mine doing that back when we were young and dumb. Any ways I just love to see what new ads they will come out with for M&M's.

Do you remember those "got milk" ads. I can't remember if there was alot of them, but the one I do remember is when the guy is eating the peanut butter sandwich. He is some history buff and on the radio there is a question asked about who shot Alexander Hamilton. Well needless to say he knows the answer but when he answers the phone, the person on the other line can't understand him because of the sticky peanut butter sandwich in his mouth. Then of course he has milk but when he goes to pour some in his glass, there is none in the carton. Needless to say he didn't win because they couldn't understand what he was saying. I haven't seen this commercial lately, I think that is because the milk mustash ads have taken over for the commercials. When they did have "got milk" commercials, this was the one that I remember and always got a kick out of.

Well that was just a few ads that made me laugh when ever I saw them. So these two commercials get thumbs up from me. I love how they keep you laughing, while they are selling there product. So what do you thing? Does my choices on commercials make you laugh? Or do you think they are all right? Do you have a favorite or funny commercial that you like? If you do, what is it? What made it memorable for you?

Well that is all for this week. Hope you enjoyed and laughed today.

Beauty Ads

Have you stayed up late and watch all those commercials for quick fixes? Have you ever tried any of those products hoping to look younger, lose weight, or what ever they are trying to sell?

I can say I have bought a couple of those kinds of products. Mostly for having the perfect hair or the nice milky skin that all those actresses have. Did it work? Heck no, I still have the same curly, wild looking hair, and the same skin with the dark circles under the eyes. I guess we all in a way want to believe that we can all look perfect, so we buy these products hoping for those kinds of promises that we see on T.V.

The one thing that they don't tell us is that everyone is different and that they you are not going to have the same kind of results as shown on T.V. Is that fair to us the buyer? Well i guess that is. There is nothing saying that everything shown on T.V., internet, and ect., has to be the truth. What ever makes the product sell is what they will tell you. They use our inseccurities to sell their products. We are the dumb ones who buy it to it, without doing research on that product first to see if it is true. Then they tell you that if it doesn't work you can get your money back. Yeah right! When you get the product there are other guide lines you have to follow before that can happen. And how many of us actually follow those guide lines. I know I sure don't. When you buy a product, like for instance a weight loss pill, all you think you have to do is take the pill and the pounds will melt away. NOT!!! That is what they say in their ad, but what you don't know until you buy it is you have to do a certain diet that they send you and plus a work out. Think that is not fair that they don't tell you that in the commercial. Well that is how they sell it and you don't ask for your money back. It is really smart if you think of it. But not fair by any means.

I guess we as consumers need to stop believing in what we think is the quick fix. If it is too good to be true then it usually is. We as men and women need to stop looking for an easy fix and just need to accept each other for who we are. If the man up stairs wanted us to all be perfect then he would have made us that way. Today's society has shown our young people that if you are not skinny, not tan, and don't have big boobs, then their is something wrong with you. That is unfair to our young people because that causes alot more problems like: eatting problems, low self-esteem, and depression with our young people. We need to have real role models, not fake ones who are air brushed. I know I am rambling, but I have a teenage daughter and sometimes I hear what they are talking about and it makes me mad, sad, and worried as a mother. All I can do is reassure them that they are perfect the way they are and if someone tells them different then they are not happy with themselves. If that makes sense.

I guess what I am saying is be well educated before you make that next pruchase of the wounder pill, or cream, or what ever they are selling that will make you look young, with beautiful hair or body. I know I have. I put a few ads in here that say they will make you look younger, or lose weight. You be the judge and see if it sound too good to be true.

Magazine Advertisement

When I am standing in line waiting to check out, I can't help but notice all the magazines there. I will pick one up and thumb through it and see if something jumps out at me. Most of the time I look for the article that they were talking about on the cover of the magazine. While looking for that article you can always see many ads for makeup, perfume, clothes, movies, and etc.

There is so many different magazines out there that each one has to try and top the other. Has to get the breaking story to be able to sell their magazine. Sometimes it makes me wounder if what they put out there is true or a little fabricated. I know you have the gossip magazines that say so and so was caught cheating with so and so. Or a movie star was caught drinking in public and getting in fights. It seems all you hear is the negative in alot of magazine cover stories, instead of the good that they have done. Or you only hear one side of the story. So can you always believe what you read? I think not.

One magazine that comes to mind that likes to go for the wow factor is TIME magazine. Remember the add with the mother still breast feeding the toddler. That was something, I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It just made me think, wow they will do a story on anything that will sell issues. Plus, how could that mother do an article on that. It reminded me of a Jerry Springer show. But it did make them money since people couldn't believe a mother would do that. Plus she got air time on T.V. and as they say, had her 15 minutes of fame.

Magazines are good for advertisements. Some may think that is a famous person uses the product, drives the product, wears the product, and ect. That the product must work and will go out and buy the product before they know anything about it. That is the down side. Products doesn't work the same for everyone. I have gone out and tried things just because I see that it has worked for someone else and figure if it works there then it should work for me. Not the case, I have wasted alot of money on those products and used them once or twice and then they collect dust on the shelf or in the drawer. I guess we the consumers need to better educate ourselves before we go out and buy things that we don't know alot about.

Little Caesars, woo commercial!

Advertising is a way that companies get your attention to buy their products. You see advertising everywhere you go. It is on billboards, magazines, commericals, radio, and etc. Everywhere you go someone is trying to get you to buy their products.

Watch the video up above and answer the following questions. Do you understand what the company is trying to sell? Does it make sense to you? Does this make you want to go out and buy this product?

This advertisement didn't make sense to me. I understood that the commercial had to do with the $5.00 pizza's but it didn't make me want to got out and buy one. So I gave this commercial a thumbs down.

Maybe I am missing something but for me a food advertisement should make me want to buy their food. I am not saying that I do not like Little Caesar's, I just think they could have done a better job on trying to sell their pitch. Yes, the commercial is memorable and makes you laugh in a weird way but it does not sell the product.

Over all it is a memorable commercial and maybe that is what they were looking for. So that when you thought about it or talked about it, you would want to go buy a pizza from them because they are inexpensive.

So what to you think?
